The NHRC Chairs the Investigation Panel on allegations of torture by Commissioner Gorgi Mboob on one Ebrima Sanneh

An Investigation panel to look into the allegations of torture by Commissioner Gorgi Mboob on one Ebrima Sanneh has finally been constituted. The NHRC will lead the investigation and also chair the said panel comprising of a 5 persons  membership namely, a representative of the Gambia Bar Association, of the Civil Society, Organisation Secretariat (TANGO), of the Gambia Police Force and of the Ministry of Interior.

The initial meeting of the panel is scheduled at the Secretariat Office of the NHRC on Friday 14 August 2020 at 10 am. This meeting will discuss and agree on a draft terms of reference of the panel,  review and agree on a draft work plan and map out a way forward for conducting the said investigation. It is expected that the process will not last for more than two weeks.
